Saints U9’s vs Whitland

We travelled to Whitland with 9 players today and we weren't sure what to expect. They had a lot of players on their U9s team but we didn't let that deter us.

We started of strong and fast, and Kian powering through for the first try. Whitland responded with some speedy legs to see them levelling it back up. After a quick reset Bear found the the try line to put us ahead again. Some brilliant play from both sides in this first quarter.

Started off the second quarter as we finished the first. Definitely ramped up a gear, Oliver showed he may be small but not to be messed with managing to side step most if the whitland team and making amazing ground setting up Ollie and Zaki for their trys. Some big tackles put in today from the team, big mention for Oliver, Kian, Ollie and Logan for some beautiful try saving tackles.

Third quarter Whitland started getting to grips with their tackles, managing some big hits on Kian and Bear but Delun was there ready passing the ball out quickly. Logan showing great speed and strength in a beautiful run from a Delun pass that even the biggest whitland player couldn't stop.

Final quarter and although ours were tiring they ploughed on. The big hits were coming and legs kept running, Oscar managed a good few runs to gain ground from Whitland and the Saints weren't taking any prisoners !! Before the final whistle a lovley pass to Eliza saw her score the final try!

Some fab assists from Logan, Oliver and Oscar which needed mentioning.

Final score: Saints- 19 Whitland - 9

Still need working on line speed, passing and positioning but a brilliant game. Comments from people watching were amazing!!

Keep it up Saints 🟡⚫🟡
