U9’s vs Milford

Travelled to Milford and luckily the rain kept at bay for the game.

Both teams started off unsure with play going back and forward, but after a few minutes the Saints got the first try over the line!!

Brilliant team work throughout the game, which is our main focus. Some big runs from Bear and Ollie on the wing but Milford defence was strong and getting them into touch. Saints kept composure and showed how good a defence we had. Kian and Logan getting in some big hits on some much bigger players, which led to winning a turnover. Quick ball out which saw Bear use his speed to score a lovely try. Oliver showed he could command a team and getting them into position, had some good tackles and ground gaining runs. A lovely run from Oscar aswell - it was good to see him with ball in hand today. Delun was up at every tackle and getting the ball out quick, one of which gave Kian a seamless try, half time 5-4 to the Saints.

Second half was a lot more physical from both sides. Everyone worked hard at getting tackles in, Zaki showed just how powerful he is when he's charging down the pitch, using all of his strength to get him across the line. Special mention for Chase who joined us from Milford today, great communication between him and Oliver and he got stuck right in with our lot.

Above all else today the team work was outstanding, I've spoken to the kids a lot about it the last 2 weeks, and the bond and respect for each other is getting stronger which is now showing in their game
