U10s vs Narberth
One thing you’ll get most weeks with the U10s games is plenty of tries, and this one didn’t disappoint.
If the first play was a benchmark for the rest of the game, it didn’t start well for the Saints with Narberth running straight through the defence to the try line. However, once we had warmed our hands and blew off the cobwebs the Saints upped the tempo which in truth Narberth struggled to contend with for the rest of the game. Saints regaining the lead and not losing it for the rest of the game. For the majority of the game the Saints were dominant at the breakdown, securing their own ball and winning plenty of turnovers, allowing our runners to carve through the Narberth defence. Eli and George strong in defence, first up tackles key to stopping Narberth’s quicks getting through. The Saints kept quick ball throughout, some lovely handling skills in tricky conditions with Geraint finishing one off in the corner. With Geraint’s confidence high, when being driven into touch he decided to throw the ball back over his head which landed perfectly into Rory’s hands, drawing the defence in before Rory sending a lovely pass out to Joey for an easy run in. Eli, Rafferty and Joey adding some more solo tries which gave the Saints a nice lead, Narberth came back with some late tries but in truth the Saints had done enough to secure the win!
