U10s vs Tenby

The sun was out for the Saints U10’s vs Tenby today at St David’s. We had 9 players available so everyone could play a full game with Rory taking the role as captain.

The match started with Tenby reacting quickly and getting the ball through to their sprinters to take it over the line - something that continued through the game. The Saints pushed forward well and never gave up managing to pass the ball out and make several strong runs . We showed great defence against a big strong Tenby team, and managed to hold a few tries off our line, but Tenby were strong too. There was some great teamwork and break throughs with Freddie and Poppy to name a few including a set up for Eli to touch down. Rory took a number of bashes and bounces to get so close to the try line before being pushed to touch. Tenby had the pace to get the ball out to the line and away.

We borrowed 2 Tenby players in the 2nd half to even things up and make sure everyone had game time. The Saints team work continued with Raff, Florence and George showing their strength making good ground. Iestyn and Dan covered some distance making sure support was available and pushing the ball through quick hands.

Great game play on both sides and Tenby showed us some tips and tricks to learn from.
Ultimately the score ended up Saints 3 - 11 Tenby.
