Saints U9’s vs Pembroke Dock Quinns
It stayed dry for this morning's rugby games!!
We welcomed a 16 player strong Pembroke Dock Quinn's team, we always enjoy playing them as the children mix well together and us coaches do too.
Both teams started strongly, but quick feet saw Quinns take an early lead. Saints came back and showed true grit to break through and score their first try of the game.
Tackles were on point today: Logan, Kian, Zaki and Bear getting a fair few in and Henry put his body on the line for every tackle he completed. Oscar was back and straight into his tackles, also having a few of good runs.
Some great passing from the team today with a couple of break away runs from Seb, Bear, Ollie and Kian, each of them had Oliver in support every time. An unfortunate slip from Oliver saw the ball go into touch, but it's good to see that they are playing the game as a team.
Really impressed with Eliza today showing just how powerful she could be holding off one of their bigger players until tackle was called.
Special mention for the ref!! It was a tricky game to referee but it was handled well and complimented by a few there.
Before the game started I spoke to the team and told them that it's not about trys, it's not about winning, it was about playing the game as a team and my goodness they did!! It could have gone either way and I think so far was the best game of rugby I've seen from any team so far this season!! Really proud of each and everyone, week by week they are getting stronger and more confident, we are proud to be your coaches
