U11s vs Pembroke
First half Saint played very well and were very physical which meant that Pembroke were a bit shell shocked. Some good early tries boosted Saints confidence. It’s difficult to be a referee, particularly at rucks and after a tackle, but it definitely felt that Pembroke had the benefit of a few decisions, particularly in the first half. Although frustrations were growing with some of the decisions our players did amazing to focus upon what they can control and use their frustrations to enhance their performance.
Lots of notable performance today, everyone played a big part. Some really good rugby played. Looked really good when some strong runs gets our momentum going. Good handling and distribution keeps the move going and we have plenty of individual speed and skill to finish tries when the gaps appear. Cory showed some good signs of improvement again today by getting involved throughout the game and competing well against some strong and big opponents. Teilo was perfect with conversions, ran well but most notably he got the backs moving well which is where we looked most impressive.
We played 10 v 10 so Pembroke had an advantage of 3 subs. There was a concern that with everyone playing a full match and giving it 100% we’d get tired in the last quarter. That didn’t happen and Saints finished strongly. Overall, great game and great performance. 👍
Good win today against Pembroke. 8 tries to 4 with both teams getting all their conversions
Final Score: Saints 56 : 28 Pembroke
